Good news for taxpayers! The deadline for linking your Aadhaar and PAN cards has been extended until June 30, 2023.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) confirmed the extension on March 28, 2023.
The deadline has been extended to provide more time for taxpayers to link their PAN and Aadhaar.
PAN cardholders can now link their Aadhaar without facing repercussions until June 30
After July 1, 2023, unlinked PAN cards will become inoperative.

PAN-Aadhaar linking is not required for NRIs, non-citizens of India, senior citizens above 80 years, and residents of Assam, Meghalaya, and Jammu Kashmir.

The Income Tax department tweeted on March 18, 2023, stating that it is mandatory for all PAN holders to link their PAN with Aadhaar before March 31, 2023.
Failure to link PAN with Aadhaar will result in an inoperative PAN card from April 1, 2023, for those not exempted.
